SERPENT CHAPEAU (“saer-pawn sha-po”)

What began as a ragtag french-busking collaboration between Kim Wong + Joanna Syiek (singers) in the streets of Paris circa 2009, quickly grew into a five member band with Jen Lin (keys), Carlos Felipe Flores (guitar), and Elbert Gonzalez (cajon/percussion).

Influenced by Gypsy Jazz and French Chanson, the band brings their unique swing to songs from Zaz to M., Mozart Rock Opera to Coeur de Pirate, Edith Piaf to Pink Martini.

How do you eat your Petits Beurres?
Kim: “Corners first. Duh.”
Joanna: “Dunked in a bit of tea”
Jen: “One biscuit at a time”
Carlos: “Are you cold? I’m kidding man. Whole.”
Elbert: “I don’t eat gluten”
